# How Much Does Toilet Waterproofing Cost in Singapore (2026)?

Updated 2026-10-10 · by Seepwise

Short answer: For one toilet, published 2026 contractor guides put hacking and disposal at about S$800 to S$1,500 and the waterproofing package of membrane, screed and ponding test at about S$800 to S$2,500, so roughly S$1,600 to S$4,000 before new tiles and GST. A full HDB toilet renovation was quoted around S$5,000 to S$8,000 in one 2026 guide.

A full HDB toilet renovation, including new tiles and fittings, was put at around S$5,000 to S$8,000 ([MoneyBees](https://themoneybees.co/blog/hdb-toilet-renovation)).

## By area, if you have the measurements

A July 2026 calculator lists hacking and disposal at about S$3 to S$8 per sq ft and screeding at about S$1 to S$3 per sq ft ([Smart Calculator](https://www.smartcalculator.sg/housing/flooring-cost-calculator)). A typical HDB common toilet floor is small, so per-toilet packages are how most contractors price it.

## What you should get for the money

- The membrane across the floor and turned up the walls

- Screed laid to fall toward the floor trap

- A ponding test of at least 24 hours before tiling

- An HDB permit if the floor is hacked, applied for by the contractor

- Photos of each layer

## Before you spend anything

If the flat is new, HDB’s 5-year ceiling-leak warranty may cover a leak, and changing tiles can end it ([HDB](https://www.mynicehome.gov.sg/hdb-how-to/maintain-your-flat/)). See [Is my BTO leak covered?](/guide/bto-leak-warranty/)

## Bottom line

Budget about S$1,600 to S$4,000 per toilet before tiles and GST, using the published ranges, and insist on the ponding test. Try the [cost estimator](/tools/waterproofing-cost-estimator/), then [request a quote](/contact/#request).

## More questions

Does the waterproofing price include tiles? +
Usually not. Tiles and tiling labour are often quoted separately. Is the ponding test extra? +
Several 2026 packages include it; confirm it is in yours. Can I avoid hacking to save money? +
If the leak is localised, PU injection may work. If the membrane has failed, hacking and renewal is the fix. [Related serviceToilet waterproofingA wet area that stays dry for years needs three things done in order: membrane, screed, test.](/toilet-waterproofing/)
