Seepwise passes active-leak requests to a specialist as a priority. Until someone arrives, these steps limit the damage and keep everyone safe.
The first ten minutes
- Electrics. If water is near a light, fan, socket or switch, switch off that circuit at the distribution board. Do not touch wet fittings.
- Sagging ceiling. A bulging ceiling can be holding water. Keep everyone out from under it.
- Contain. Buckets under the drips, towels on the floor, valuables and electronics moved away.
- Record. Photos and a short video with the time. Note whether it started after rain, after the unit above used water, or with the aircon on.
Who to call, by type of home

| HDB flat above | Your upstairs neighbour, then an inspection |

| Landed roof or walls | A specialist: send the request below |
After the emergency
Most active leaks need two visits: one to stop or contain the water and find where it enters, and one to repair it properly once surfaces are dry. Ask for both in writing. See roof leak repair and ceiling leak repair.
